Does WhatsApp support fancy fonts?
Published September 6, 2026
Yes. WhatsApp displays Unicode text exactly as sent, in chats, group names, and status updates — which is what makes both "fancy" Unicode fonts and glitch text work there.
WhatsApp doesn't apply any special formatting layer to most text — it renders whatever Unicode characters you send, which is why substituted-alphabet "fancy fonts" (bold, script, bubble, and so on) and combining-mark glitch text both display correctly.
The one practical limit is status text, which has a shorter character cap than chat messages, so heavier styling or glitch intensity eats into that space faster.
For a bold/cursive/bubble version of your text rather than glitch text, use the fancy font generator, which uses the alphabet-substitution mechanism WhatsApp displays cleanly.
