Does Instagram support glitch text?
Published September 6, 2026
Yes. Instagram renders standard Unicode text, including combining marks, in bios, captions and comments.
There's no special filtering on Instagram that blocks or strips glitch text — it displays the same way any other Unicode text does.
The limit that actually matters is the 150-character bio cap, which counts every Unicode code point — including every combining mark stacked on a letter. Heavy glitch intensity can burn through that budget after just a few visible words.
Captions and comments have much higher limits, so there's more room to use a heavier intensity there than in a bio. See the Instagram-tuned glitch text generator for a live preview mockup and a default intensity sized for bios.
